Fabulous Friday

Happy Fabulous Friday! What's fabulous about today is smiles!

My heart is full of smiles today. Last night we took the next step in Sticky's swimming lessons and put her in the spa bath for the first time. She's grown out of her baby bath so it was time to move up.

I sat in the bath with her and supported her head and shoulders. She looked a bit uncertain so I moved my other hand to support her bottom. Instantly she felt safe and started kicking like crazy. Her legs and arms were going as she enjoyed the water. Suddenly, this huge smile came over her face. I had never seen her smile that large. She was in absolute heaven and it made my heart melt to see her so happy. She was having so much fun I was able to pour the water over her face with no problems!

Mind you, she wasn't very happy when it was time to get out. She kept kicking up a storm on the change mat and shot me a dirty look for ruining her good time. Oh well, I'm sure she'll get over it when she has another bath tonight. I think all the excitement wore her out because she slept from 6:30pm to 6am so added bonus!

Today was my turn to smile, catching up with my best friend for the first time in 1.5 years. She lives on the other side of the country so catching up in person is a rare treat. She's 6 months pregnant which made it even more special. It was the first time she got to meet Sticky and for me to see her beautiful belly.

We've been friends for nearly 20 years and it's one of those special friendships where it doesn't matter how long it is between visits, it feels like you've never been apart. Although I do find the distance more difficult now than what I use to. We've both been on a tough journey to bring babies into the world and I wish we could be closer to experience the joy of parenthood together. But, distance is so easily overcome these days so there's ways around it.

So, on this special Fabulous Friday, my heart is full of smiles. I'm loving seeing my baby grow and be happy. I'm loving being a mother. I'm loving seeing a beloved friend. And most importantly, I'm just loving life!

Have a great weekend all!

  1. Hi there, I have just read your blog as I am thinking of seeing Liz Lalor. Your blog came up in a Google search on her. You share such great information, thank you. Did I read correctly that you completed 3 months of treatment with her which finished in May and you were pregnant the following month? If you had your time again would you do her program? Many thanks and congratulations on your determination and success. Tina

    1. Hi Tina,

I fell pregnant on my 4th round of the program. I was also on my 3rd round of taking clomid so it's hard to know if it was one or the other or the combination of both. The program definitely helped with other problems I was having so I don't think you have anything to loose by trying it. There are a lot of remedies to take at different parts of the day so you do have to be organised and remember to take them!

I did feel a bit overwhelmed by it at times but as I look at my baby bouncing away in her bouncer I'd do it all again in a heartbeat!

Best of luck in your journey!

    2. No, I didn't have that done. It's worth while finding a good fertility specialist who will take you on the journey. We had a great one who recommended starting with the fertility medication and trying that for 6 months, then if that didn't work insemination and trying for 6 months then ivf as the last resort. Luckily I fell pregnant on the medication so didn't have to go through the rest but we were ready to move onto insemination when I found out I was pregnant. Ivf is such a big step it's good to know what all the other options are!
