Fertility program update

Four weeks ago, I started popping pills as part of the homeopathic fertility program I decided to try. If you recall, I had pills to cover a wide range of issues and I’m pleased to say I’m already seeing results!

As a quick recap, I decided to embark on the Liz Lalor Fertility Progam.  It’s a homeopathic fertility program that has an 87% success rate of falling pregnant within 4 cycles. I figured they were pretty good odds!

I came away with 9 different remedies that I have to take on various days, at various times, within my cycle. These remedies address oestrogen balance, fertile mucus, vaginal dryness, vulvodynia, miscarriage, progesterone levels, cramps, libido, post-pill repair, uterine lining, ovulation and cycle length. It’s all quite a mouthful – literally and figuratively!

Taking medication like this is not like taking a Panadol and your headache goes away – there is no immediate result. I’m not sure how I expected it to work, or how I would know it was working. I just figured I would have to wait and see. But, I’ve just finished my fertile window and I can't believe the difference in just 1 cycle!

I can’t tell if my oestrogen, likelihood of miscarriage, progesterone, post-pill repair or uterine lining has improved – that’s all happening on the inside. But there has been a definite increase in my fertile mucus, which has reduced they dryness, therefore increasing libido! Previously, I had to use up to 2 tubes of lubricant gel just to handle the pain of having sex and now I only have to use half a tube. At $3 a tube, it’s a great saving to make! I still have some discomfort, but it’s reduced by about 70%, which I was not expecting in my first month. I thought it would build up gradually overtime but even if that’s the only improvement I ever get, I’ll be happy!

I was literally overcome by the amount of fertile mucus I produced. Basic anatomy lesson – your fertile mucus helps carry the sperm to the egg so the more you have, the easier the sperms' journey is! I was jumping up and down with excitement when I saw it and thought “Surely this means I’ll fall pregnant this month.” As soon as that thought entered my head, I had to push it out. I knew I was building myself up for a fall that I didn’t want to take.

I think I put a bit more pressure on this cycle as it’s my 3rd try and I fell pregnant on my 3rd try the first time. I’d like to think 3rd time is the charm but I know that’s not the case. So I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much but feel really excited that I now have a better chance of it happening. Even if it doesn’t, I at least know this program is working and have a new well of hope, faith and belief that my next baby is on their way!

how did you go? I am thinking about using this method, made an appointment for this month. Been trying ttc baby 3, for almost three years. I'm so nervous yet excited.

  2. Hi Kimberley, I did my 3rd round of the program and was taking Clomid at the same time. I ended up falling pregnant and she's 2 in 3 weeks! I can't say if it was the program, the clomid, the combination of the both but who cares - it worked! So no harm in giving it a go! Best of luck with it!
